Are you the kind of cinephile who counts down the days to the Oscars, spending your time pouring over each Best Picture nominee’s merits and faults–over popcorn, of course? If Hollywood’s biggest night excites you more than any blockbuster premiere, your moment in the spotlight has arrived.

As the 2024 Oscars approach, featuring a controversial lineup from “Barbie” to “Oppenheimer” and Jimmy Kimmel at the helm, we’re rolling out the red carpet for a unique job opportunity. This isn’t any old invitation to the movies; it’s a call to action for those who live and breathe cinema, who can predict the night’s biggest winners.

We’re on the hunt for a film aficionado to predict the outcomes of the Oscars’ most prestigious categories. Our chosen cinematic sage will immerse themselves in the 10 Best Picture contenders, rate them, and crown their champions of the night.

And we’re not just offering bragging rights. The chosen recipient will receive a $2,000 cash reward, a brand-new 65” 4K TV, and a $500 DoorDash gift card—ensuring your viewing experience is as glamorous as the films you’ll judge.

How it Works

The winner will be asked to watch and score each of the Best Picture nominees on a scale of one to ten, for each of the following criteria:

  1. Emotional Resonance: Assess the movie’s ability to evoke emotions. Did it tug at your heartstrings, create suspense, or provoke any other emotional response?
  2. Entertainment Impact: How entertaining and engaging was the movie? Did it grab your attention and make you want to watch it again?
  3. Memorability Meter: How well did the movie stick in your memory? Rate its effectiveness in leaving a lasting impression.
  4. Creativity Quotient: Rate the movie based on its creativity. Did it stand out from the typical movies, and was the concept innovative?
  5. Social Buzz Score: Assess the movie’s potential for creating social media buzz. How likely is it to be shared and talked about on platforms like Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram?

For example, a nearly-perfect film that scores a 9/10 in each category would receive an overall rating of 45/50.
The Best Picture nominees are:

  • American Fiction
  • Anatomy Of A Fall
  • Barbie
  • The Holdovers
  • Killers Of The Flower Moon
  • Maestro
  • Oppenheimer
  • Past Lives
  • Poor Things
  • The Zone Of Interest

We will also ask the winner to predict the outcomes of the following awards:

  • Best Director
  • Best Actor
  • Best Actress
  • Best Supporting Actor
  • Best Supporting Actress
